These photos were taken June 8, 2002
at the home of their parents in Yreka Ca.
In honor of my dad.
Some people are blessed. I was blessed tremendously.
I had a godly mother and a father of integrity.
I have a heritage that stabilized me and lifted me up all the days
of my life.
My dad, Howard Elliot Jones was the most honorable man I ever knew.
He was a man of integrity. He was a good man, a good father and a good
husband.
He taught us integrity, honesty, perseverance and dedication by
example,
not lecture.
(memories)
I can remember dad helping me with homework.
I can remember dad buying my first shotgun at a sporting goods
store.
It was a 410 Mossberg bolt action single shot.
I was a man I thought, I was 9 years old.
I remember his love for the outdoors and our great adventures:
Pheasant, dove, quail, ducks, geese, deer hunting.
These times were so special to me. Each trip has it's story.
It helped to create my personality and a sense of adventure
and establish who I was. I had identity. I was a Jones,
a hunter, a fisherman, an outdoors man, and I loved the whole thing.
I remember trout fishing in pristine clear little creeks near Chester
in the Sierras.
Dad, grandpa Jones my brothers and God's nature, I was in heaven.
I learned many skills. I remember digging for clams at Pismo Beach
until I turned blue.
I remember getting abalone and crabs. To me it was a great adventure,
great bonding, and a great heritage. Dad left his mark on me forever.
I love you dad, for all the values and time and discipline and caring
that you gave me.
I am so thankful for your example as a man.
My dad was a truly devoted husband. He took care of mom to the best
of his abilities for years and years.
That wasn't easy because mom was sick and bed ridden most of the time.
He loved her, washed, cleaned the house, did the shopping, took her
to the doctor,
doled out her medicine, made her comfortable and provided love,
security,
and did anything he could think of to help her.
Dad was a great and honorable example.
How many can say that?
If any man could enter heaven on his works, good deeds and integrity
it was my dad.
But the bible says:
No one is good, no one in all the world is innocent.
No one has really followed God's path, or even really wanted to.
Everyone has turned away; all have gone wrong.
No one anywhere has kept on doing right; not one.
but......
but God loved the world so much that he gave his only son
so that anyone that believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life.
God did not send his son into the world to condemn it, but to save
it.
Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen as his own?
No! He is the one who has forgiven us and given us right standing with
him self.
Who then will condemn us? Will Christ? No!
For he is the who died for us and came back to life again for us and
is sitting at the place
of highest honor next to God, pleading for us there in Heaven.
Who then can ever keep Christ'S love from us?
I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love.
Dad, I love you. I hope to see you again in heaven.
